A bed is to a room what a
couch is to the living room. It anchors the room and sets the tone. It responsible
for setting the mood for the experience you can expect in the bedroom. Of
course your room consist of a variety of furniture pieces and fittings, but it’s important to understand the role of the headboard in your bedroom.
Personality exist within
almost everything we can set our eyes on, sometimes the personality solely
comes from the item itself, sometimes the personality is a reflection of our
selves.
Here you will see how I breakdown the
personality of each headboard so you better understand how to select and
purchase one. Whether you are starting
with a blank canvas or a currently furnished room, either way this post should
assist you in understanding the "personality" of a headboard.
1. Super-sized Tuft/Grand
Subtle collection
The
larger than life oversized headboard lends a very grand feel to the room
(extending pass the mattress approximately 12-16 inches on each side) The neutral
color allows for a subtle and soft feel while the consistent tufting provides character
& consistency.
2. Ethnic Masculinity
The
woodcarving lends a strong, tribal and traditional feeling. Combined with the grounded
and rooted element which dark cocoa provides, this headboard transfers an
immense amount of strength and nature to a room.
3. Slightly Graphic/Graphic
Arch
The
contours on each corner of the headboard lend “soft around the edges” while
still holding the sentiments of rooted strength with the use of deep cocoa. The
subtle graphic within the headboard frame gives an expressive yet subtle detail
to the headboard.

4. Linear Maturity
Nail
heads provide an element of strength combined with the linear pattern yields
strength & consistency. The charcoal colored fabric bestows a classic and
steadfast feel to a room. This headboard gives off a lot of strength &
mature stability to a room.
5. Subtle Contours
The
juxtaposition of strong nail heads with subtle curves and soft and natural
beige makes this headboard a great combination of masculinity and femininity to
a room.
7. Serene Contours
This
headboard is another great combination of strength and elegance. The subtle
curves and arches not only provide character and interest but also lets not
forget personality. Shades of blue are often used in design/décor to allow for
a calm, serene ambiance.
8. Lofty Sophistication
This
elevated tufted headboard transfers a grand loft atmosphere. This shade of teal
dispenses sophistication and confidence. This headboard is truly the definition of
lofty sophistication.
9. Continuous Subtle Tact
This
straight-lined headboard contributes a streamlined continuous vibe. The combination
of this shade of blue is very sere healing and calm. This headboard is a great
option if you don’t want your headboard to stand out too much in your bedroom.
If you have another statement piece such as a chandelier of end tables with
lots of character this might be a great headboard for your décor needs.
