GET THE LOOK: ANACONDA themed HOME GYM

GET THE LOOK: ANACONDA styled Home Gym

So we all know this Nikki Minaj Anaconda broke records on YouTube etc. I loved the set design of this video. It motivated me to do a “Get The Look” post for a home gym/work out area.

One of the favorite scenes is this exercise room. I love the fact that they are in the jungle and there is this electric colorful gym, which doesn’t belong there, yet it does. I like how the production designer decided to create an unpredictable look by adding bright colored elements that one wouldn’t find in the jungle.
The scene below has the more expected authentic jungle elements + look, which work so well. I love the choice of using a lot of bamboo to create the structures and I really like how the thatch roof hut anchors the look.

I love the crisp look of the more monochromatic look and tone of the jungle scene above, and I wanted to create a bit more contrast. Below you will see a few gyms, which have a black/white color schemes. I decided to use the black and white color scheme as a base and build it up with the variations of green and neutrals, which you find in the jungle scene above. I combined that with the décor elements of the colorful work out scene. {i.e. the use of bamboo, neon lighting + vintage suitcases}

These are the beginning stages of how I start putting together a design concept. I started collecting references then begin editing through the keepers. I then add them together to create a more comprehensive mood board. Stay tuned for that mood board …it’s be coming up soon.

4 GEOMETRIC RUGS FOR FALL

We all know Geometric shapes have been all the rage for a while now. I picked out 4 geometric rugs, which caught my eye for some of the projects I’m preparing for. Take a look maybe one may be an awesome fit to add to one of your rooms/areas this fall + winter season.

1. This runner would be great for the entrance of your home as well as a mudroom or kids room/play room.
2. This rug is a great splash of color in your living room or even better, your dinning room. I splash of color under your feet is not only unexpected but makes for a great feel entering and leaving the room.
3. This combination of diamonds and triangles and it’s unexpected pattern consistency gives it a hand crafted/artisan feel. I loved it. This would be lovely in a living room, but I think it’ll be awesome in a gender-neutral nursery. This is such a great accent and basis for a nursery child room because it has so many colors you can draw from and it’s playful pattern is obviously playful.

So I haven’t come across a geometric rug in the last 2 months, but I have I did get a hold of a Traditional Turkish rug. The green color just captivated me and caught my eye. It’s color really brightens up a room and gives it a sense of a natural excitement, almost a calm type of excitement. Click the photo to see more pics of this gorgeous rug in my KRRB Corner.
